The mountain lake of Gosainkunda is considered sacred to many, especially as a favored hangout of Shiva. The lakes lies in the highlands between the Langtang Valley and Helambu trekking regions. It is located at an astonishingly beautiful locale at 4,381 m (14,374 ft) and is one of the top trekking destinations of Nepal. This trek combines Gosainkunda with a journey up the magnificent Langtang Valley as well as the scenic Helambu Region, too. Langtang and Helambu are connected near Gosainkund Lake by a high mountain pass known as the Laurebina La (4,610 m/ 15,110 ft).
The trek to Gosainkunda Lake trek with Langtang and Helambu combines the astonishing wonders of each region. It is ideal for those seeking a Himalayan experience with jaw-dropping beauty and fewer of the crowds than Everest and Annapurna. The mountain scenery and experience of the lifestyle and culture in the hills people will be remembered as a highlight and can rejuvenate mind, body and spirit along the way. The vistas from Gosainkunda Lake are especially vibrant at dawn and dusk when colors drench the mountainous skyline.
